A Look at the Planned Exhibition
The plans for the exhibition at the future Cap Arcona Documentation Center will be presented to the public on Friday, November 13, 2026. The event will take place at the Neustädter Bucht Elementary School, Steinkamp 5, in Neustadt in Holstein, and begins at 6:00 p.m.
Curator Julia Werner and curator Stefan Nies, together with the exhibition designers from Whitebox Dresden, will present the design plans. Afterward, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
The Documentation Center is being built at Haakengraben 8, right next to the zeiTTor Museum. With approximately 250 square meters of permanent exhibition space, the museum will present the events of May 3, 1945, in and around Neustadt, as well as their lead-up and aftermath, in a contemporary manner. The new building will replace the existing Cap Arcona Museum, which opened in 1990, covers only 40 square meters, and is not accessible to people with disabilities.
The public event is being held in cooperation with the Association of Friends and Supporters of the Museum of Neustadt in Holstein.
