Reading from a Baltic Sea Mystery Novel

On October 4, 2026, Turid Müller will read from her Cap Arcona mystery novel *Unter dem Strand* in Neustadt in Holstein. The novel focuses on the “Cap Arcona” disaster and explores its repercussions right up to the present day.
The event, part of the Neustadt Kulturmatinee series, is a collaboration between the Cap Arcona Museum and the city’s KulturService.

About the book:
Cay, a failed author with a life full of upheavals, ekes out a living as a journalist. For one of her assignments, she travels to the Bay of Lübeck: May 3 marks the 80th anniversary of the day the “Cap Arcona” sank shortly before the end of the war. But before Cay can begin her research, she finds the body of a young woman at the site of the disaster—a woman who had been committed to commemorating this tragedy. Fleeing her past, Cay throws herself into the murder case and discovers that the unatoned guilt of the past still casts a long shadow over the present.
